Return to You
Week 6
As you move through this final week, take a moment to reflect on the practices you’ve explored and notice which ones you might want to carry with you beyond the program.
This week’s focus
Reach out and connect
Our nervous systems don’t exist in isolation. Connection with people we feel safe, supported and ourselves around can be a powerful part of our wellbeing.
This week, think of someone in your life who lifts your energy, someone you enjoy being around, who makes you laugh, feel understood or simply reminds you that you’re not doing life alone.
Reach out. Send the message, make the call or arrange a visit.
Then, rather than rushing on to the next thing, take a moment to notice how you feel afterwards. What shifts in your body, your mood or your energy when you make space for meaningful connection?
This week’s practice
Leaves on a stream
This week’s practice is a visualisation designed to help you notice thoughts without getting caught up in them.
When our minds are busy, it’s easy to become absorbed in our thoughts, replaying the past, worrying about the future or getting caught up in everything we need to do.
In this practice, you’ll imagine placing each thought onto a leaf and watching it gently float downstream. The goal isn’t to stop your thoughts or empty your mind. It’s simply to practise noticing them, allowing them to be there, and letting them pass without needing to follow them.
As always, there’s no right way to do this. If your mind wanders, simply notice and gently return to the practice. Take what you need from it, and remember that even a few quiet minutes can create a little more space.
Remember
You don’t need to master every practice in this program. Over the next 6 weeks, you’re building your own nervous system toolkit. Some practices will feel more helpful than others, and that’s exactly what we’re looking for.
Keep the ones that work for you. Leave the ones that don’t.
This is about you discovering what helps you return to yourself.
